Join the Jewish Social Impact Network (JSI) to learn, connect, and take action based on evidence and tradition.
We are a community of Jews using evidence and reason to make a meaningful difference in the world, inspired by our tradition.
We understand your deep commitment to making the world better, and the challenges of knowing where to focus your energy.
JSI is here to guide you. We are a global community of Jews passionate about using evidence and reason to figure out how to help others as much as possible. We are inspired by and in conversation with our Jewish tradition, which calls on us to pursue justice (tzedakah) and aid the oppressed, and to work to repair the world (tikkun olam). By blending Jewish wisdom with evidence-based approaches, JSI provides you with the tools and community to maximize your positive impact.
As Jews, we believe in the responsibility to contribute to the betterment of our communities and the broader world. But with so many available opportunities and only limited time to investigate them, how do we decide where to give our money or skills to make the greatest impact?
JSI is here to help you answer that question. Our programs allow you to take a step back and evaluate what’s most important, and then connect you to the resources and community that will get you plugged in.

JSI is proud to be the only organization that is both Jewish and aligned with the effective altruism movement. While we employ ideas, resources, and tools drawn from effective altruism, we practice a pluralistic approach that leaves room for other Jewish values and priorities in our lives and respects the variety of perspectives we bring. Affiliation or identification with the effective altruism movement is not essential to participate in our community. We believe engaging with the secular effective altruism community is a wonderful thing to do, but to join JSI it is only necessary to share our Jewish motivation to help others and desire to find highly promising opportunities to do so.
We strive to help you increase your impact through a variety of different channels, offering personalized support depending on your unique interests, resources, and skills. Get in touch with us via our expression of interest form and we can get started on a customized plan!
No! We believe JSI can speak to everyone, including Jews of all denominations and backgrounds, as well as non-Jews who are interested in learning from our tradition. We strive to make our programming accessible and relevant regardless of Jewish background by serving kosher food, keeping our events shomer Shabbat-compatible, and exploring texts from sources spanning a diverse range of Jewish viewpoints.
We never discriminate on the basis of any protected class or Jewish identity.
